PGA TOUR Playoffs take 2-week break

As the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup takes a two-week break, Vijay Singh can sit back and know that by virtue of his brilliant play during the Playoffs he will win the FedExCup should he complete all 72 holes at THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola. The Atlanta tournament is the final Playoffs event.

Making a valiant charge was Camilo Villegas, who won the BMW Championship to move from 25th place to second in the standings. Sergio Garcia, who lost in a dramatic overtime session with Singh at The Barclays, the first Playoff event, is third, while Jim Furyk continues to climb the standings. Should Singh win the Playoffs, which conclude the week of Sept. 22-28, he will win $10 million. The runner-up will pocket $3 million, with $2 million going to the third-place finisher.
